We love to get out on Sunday afternoons, especially when the weather is warm. After a work week spent in the office, it’s nice to be outdoors getting sunshine and fresh air. It’s so good for your health! We like to take cruises on country roads in one of our classic cars and usually stop somewhere for lunch or a snack. We had the opportunity to take our 1966 MG out for a day and it was perfect with the top down and breeze in our faces.
I took my favorite fouta blankets because they’re always great to have if we want to spread out on some grass (like we did in this post). I wore my Hunter boots in case we serendipitously came across a sunflower field to romp in — you never know where an unplanned adventure will take you! I also wore my boater hat and these tortoise sunglasses to keep the sun out of my face. As much as I love soaking up natural vitamin D, I always try to avoid getting too much on my face.
It was quite hot when we took this cruise so I wore this vintage inspired sundress with little flower embellishments. It’s such a light cotton fabric that floated on my skin in the warm breeze. I love that the color nods to the hues of autumn and the changing leaves, so I can still wear it with a light jacket when the weather cools. With tomorrow being the first day of fall, I can’t help but think how nice a topless cruise will be in the crisp air! Even if you don’t have a classic convertible, you can roll your windows down, open a sunroof, and take in the new season!
After cruising, we stopped at a nearby bakeshop that we visited in this post for coffee and a pastry. I changed into my favorite flatform espadrilles and we sat in the sun at a picnic table in the grass. It was such a refreshing, low-stress adventure for a lazy Sunday.
As we head into fall and the days get shorter, it’s even more important to get a lot of vitamin D to avoid the ailments that go around in the colder months. Do you have any fun ideas to share for outdoor adventures in the upcoming season? Leave a comment below!
