One of the simplest outfits to put together is the basic jeans and t-shirt combo; it’s a no-fuss casual look that never misses the mark. I wear some version of this outfit about once a week; I like the easiness of it for running errands and the fact that there are no straps, buttons, delicate fabric, or any ‘extras’ that I have to think about when I’m wearing it.
One thing I like to do when wearing this combo is put a little extra emphasis on how I accessorize it to make sure the look isn’t boring. On this day, I completed the outfit with my Michael Kors crossbody bag and Steve Madden gold-studded oxfords — two items I got recently that I’ve been wearing nonstop. I mixed in some blush tones with my rose gold watch and earrings and then, to add a pop of color to an otherwise neutral-toned outfit, I put on my favorite red-orange lip color (‘Holly’ from Bite Beauty). Finally, I rolled my shirt sleeves and jeans and tucked the shirt halfway to make the look a bit more styled.
Aside from the easiness of this outfit, I also love that the look can be changed by mixing up the accessories. I’ve also worn this tan scoop neck tee with white high-waisted destroyed skinny jeans, these high heeled sandals, and my MK Sutton satchel for a sleeker date night look downtown. I got both the shirt and jeans from Old Navy which has become my destination for basic closet staples like these, and right now all their shirts are 50% off for their Memorial Day sale making it a great time to stock up!
