This pink duster coat was one of the pieces I snagged from the Nordstrom anniversary sale last month; as soon as I saw it I knew I had to own it. I couldn’t wait for fall to wear it, but with our temps still in the hundreds on the day we took these pics, I had to be creative to figure out a way to style a long jacket without roasting.

I kept the clothes underneath as minimal as possible, both visually and in terms of the amount of fabric. I paired this ivory silk cami with my most loved pair of faux leather shorts, both neutral colors so as not to compete with the beautiful pink of the coat and both extremely lightweight. It did the trick and allowed me to rock one of my fall pieces a bit early! We also leave for our (much anticipated) anniversary trip to Seattle tomorrow and I will definitely be taking this duster coat with me to wear in the cooler weather!

I also had the pleasure to get to wear some sterling silver Tinker Company jewelry which is a handmade jewelry line with the most unique pieces I’ve ever seen; check out this citrus slice necklace or this adorable sailboat ring! The creator, Jenna, hand crafts each piece with an incredible attention to detail, and an extreme amount of patience I might add; I can’t imagine how long it took to make this intricate strawberry pendant. My favorite piece, however, is this gondola necklace, not only because the gondola ACTUALLY MOVES up and down, but also because Blake and I go snowboarding so often that it feels like something that was made just for me! I absolutely love how every piece she makes has a story and is designed to evoke some of your own special memories each time you wear it. I really think in the world of fashion, there’s nothing quite like having something so unique and personal as this. What’s your favorite piece in her shop? I’d love to hear!

I like the different textures of this coat, and the clutch pulls the whole outfit together.

Me too I love how it looks like one sleeve has an elbow patch! I think the silky patches and pockets soften the coat just enough.
