Usually when it’s cold outside I reach for things to wear that are easy, comfortable, and keep me warm. You’ll often find me in sweatshirts and jeans at home. When I’m leaving the house, though, I try to get a little less comfy-cozy with my outfits. Two things I’ve been wearing often this winter are fitted shirts, which I talked about in my last post, and my latest Hunter rain boots.

First, let’s talk about these Hunter Chelsea boots. They’re easy to slip into and they’re perfect for any mud or puddles you might be trekking through. I keep them in my coat closet by the front door and wear them at least once a week to go into my yard. If you don’t have a solid waterproof shoe to get you through winter, add these to your list. There are so many colors to choose from, you’re bound to find one you love and you’ll wear them for years to come!

Next at the top of my list this winter is this navy velvet bodysuit from Madewell. Like I said here, fitted shirts are the bees knees for not bunching underneath jackets in the winter. Bodysuits are even better because they stay tucked in without any effort, meaning you can jump, dance, pick up babies, have snowball fights…anything you want to do and your outfit will stay in place. When worn with high waisted jeans like here, it accentuates the skinniest part of your waist which makes it extra flattering. Not to mention, the extra coverage under your jeans gives you another layer of warmth. I plan to add a couple more bodysuits to my wardrobe…I love this turtleneck one and this cotton ribbed one.

This is an outfit that can take you from the slushy city streets to the muddy terrain of the countryside with no loss of style or function. I’ve been wearing some version of this on repeat all season. I’d love to hear what your favorite pieces are to get you through the winter…tell me in the comments below!
