Welcome to the first post of a new category of content I’m bringing to the blog this year related to natural and healthy living! I’m so excited to introduce this content as it’s a subject I’ve been passionate about since 2011. I’ll talk more in a moment on what this broad “natural living” category encompasses and the type of content you can expect to see. For now, though, I want to jump right into one of the main subjects of that category: nontoxic beauty and my favorite natural makeup products! I discovered the nontoxic makeup brand W3ll People about two years ago and I’ve used their products ever since. These are the three staple items that form the base of my all natural makeup routine.
Bio Booster Serum
The first thing I put on every morning is the Bio Booster Serum. This stuff is liquid gold in a bottle. I use it as a moisturizer and primer before applying my makeup. It’s silky feeling, smells INCREDIBLE and gives my skin a dewy golden glow. It also boasts amazing ingredients, all of which I want on my skin in spades, like these oils: carrot seed, broccoli seed, rose hip, calendula, pomegranate, red raspberry, black cumin, turmeric, sea buckthorn, jojoba, macadamia, and olive. If I had to use one product on my face for the rest of my life, it would be this one. I’m in love with it and think you will be too! (Can you tell?)

Bio Tint Moisturizer
The next product I’ve used for years is the Bio Tint Moisturizer. It’s a tinted moisturizer with a light finish that doesn’t feel or look heavy. I use it as my foundation because I don’t like having a heavy base of makeup, though W3ll People offers foundation sticks and powders if a heavier coverage if preferred. I especially love the Bio Tint Moisturizer in summer because it has SPF 30 protection to keep the sun off my freckles, which is something I’m a lot more cognizant of in recent years.

Mascara
Last on the list is the everyday staple and my favorite item of makeup to wear, mascara. Mascara is the one thing that completely turns my look around if I’m wearing it or not. My eyelashes are blond so when I’m not wearing mascara, my lashes all but disappear. Since bald eyes is not a look I dig, I usually have multiple tubes of this mascara on hand. It has a plastic bristle brush which I find easier to apply multiple coats with, and of course, the natural formula means I don’t worry about chemicals making my eyelashes weak or falling out over time.

My makeup is admittedly the last thing I switched when I began going to nontoxic everything. Now my beauty routine is completely natural and nontoxic, and it feels amazing to know there aren’t any chemicals being put on my skin every day via the products I use. I’m excited to share much more to come about natural living: toiletry brands to switch, beauty treatments to make at home, some of our favorite healthy snacks to eat…anything and everything this way of life encompasses!
