We’re lucky to live close to Lake Travis in Austin. One place we visit often is the Oasis, which started out as a single restaurant on a cliff overlooking the lake. It’s now bloomed into a destination with local shopping, a coffee shop, a candy store, and even fun events. Some of the cool things we’ve done are free salsa lessons on the third floor of the restaurant, and driving the ’59 truck to “Cars and Coffee” on a Sunday morning.
We stopped by recently to buy a few gifts from one of my favorite shops, Design Lab. They sell tons of locally made goods which are some of my favorite gifts to give. I love supporting small businesses and local artists, and it’s a great way to give something unique. You also can’t beat the incredible views you get to enjoy while shopping. I ate at the Oasis on my first trip to Austin when visiting the UT campus as a high school senior. It was one my first experiences of the city so it will always feel quintessentially ‘Austin’ to me.
I dressed for the warm fall weather in my favorite linen jogger pants and a top made of silk-like fabric in a plum color to match the season. Just a couple accessories completed the outfit: navy blue suede high heels and a blush pink shoulder bag. I’ve worn variations of this outfit numerous times; it’s so comfortable and easy to put together. Check out other ways I’ve styled these joggers on the blog here and here.
With the holiday giving season upon us, the Oasis shops are a great place for all you fellow Austinites to shop for the ones on your list!
