As we inch our way closer to summer and spending more time in the sunny outside, I’ve become more interested in accessorizing my outfits with hats. I’ve been more skin-conscious in the past five years than I used to be as I’ve transitioned almost all of my toiletries and beauty products to more natural and organic ingredients, and hats are another great way to keep the skin on my face from getting damaged.
I bought this boater hat a couple months ago for only $15 and I find myself grabbing it whenever I know I’m going to be in the sun. I last wore it in this post and it was the perfect finishing touch to a simple romper outfit. This time I paired it with some embroidered details — a lace poncho and chambray clutch. I wear it so often that I’m going back to get a couple more. I love this black fedora style and can’t get over the striped band on this one. And for the under $20 price tag with combined sun and eye protection, I know it’s a purchase that will be more than worth it!
Speaking of sunny days, as I’ve talked about a few times on the blog, we’ve learned all of our photography by reading and watching online tutorials and simply by practicing. We took photos on this day at high noon and were able to avoid the pitfalls that come along with shooting in heavy sun because we read some helpful tips beforehand. I pinned lots of great information on how to shoot in full sun on my DSLR Photography Tutorials board if you’re interested in photography at all! We’ve found all of these articles extremely helpful and have learned so much from them.
I’ve linked some additional hat styles I love below so you can make sure you’re staying protected in the sun!
