As I’ve honed my personal style in adulthood, I find myself less influenced by the trends that come and go, and more inspired by past decades when styling my outfits. I believe a strong personal sense of style can transcend decades and trends and looks good no matter what the calendar reads. I’ve posted many outfits on the blog that had elements inspired from years past, like here, here, and here.

I came to know of the new swimsuit brand Hermoza through Instagram, and they sent me a suit of my choice to become familiar with the line. I love their vintage-inspired styles that are made for a momma who’s keeping up with her young babies, or the lady who just appreciates modesty and security in her swimwear. I was impressed by how thick the material is and how strong the seams are. There’s no question that nothing is moving around once you’ve put this suit on!

One-piece swimsuits are great for wearing your swim style away from the water. Remember when I wore a swimsuit as a bodysuit in this post? I knew as soon as I saw this brightly colored geometric one-piece that I wanted to style it like just like Gwen from Weekend at Bernie’s, a movie I grew up watching countless times. So I threw on my favorite knitted cardigan over the suit and my classic Keds sneakers and felt just like I could be weekending at a beach house in the Hamptons a la Gwen.

I later put on my favorite cutoff shorts for a complete summer outfit that can be worn anywhere you want to hop around to post-swim. We spent this evening watching the sunset by the water during Merritt’s birthday weekend at the lake house. It was a comfy swimwear outfit for lounging and kept me cozy as the sun went down and the breeze cooled across the water.
