During the summer in Georgetown, Texas, a small town outside of Austin, there’s a free concert series with live music on most Friday evenings. It’s nice to take some chairs or blankets, claim a spot in the grass on the town square, and enjoy some tunes from local area bands. Blake and I sent our Bear for a sleepover and did just that a few weekends ago in July.

We arrived early and decided to wander the shops and buildings before the show started. We walked and explored side streets, snacked on old fashioned, hand dipped ice cream from one of the shops, and slowly made our way over to the courthouse lawn as the music began. It’s great that the concert is amplified so we didn’t have to sit in the grass the entire time to enjoy the music! Once we headed over, we picked a spot away from the crowd and relaxed and listened to a mix of rockabilly, country, and jazz tunes as the sun sank low.

I wore some of my favorite pieces for cute summer outfits. This top is so great for hot weather. It’s linen, has a loose fit that allows the breeze to flow underneath, and the straps tie into bows for just enough feminine detail. I’ve worn it tons this summer and would buy it in another color in a heartbeat if it was available (it’s only $11 right now!). I’ve also worn these two-tone Levi’s shorts multiple times a week since I bought them (last seen in this post). My boater hat and platform espadrilles are several years old and still going strong. I always aim to buy items I’ll love for the long haul and these have stood the test of time and many outfits! My tortoise sunnies and embellished crossbody are new this year and go with everything as far as summer outfits are concerned.

After the band finished and the sun had set, we drove the short distance to our favorite restaurant in Georgetown, El Monumento. It’s a sister establishment to The Monument, which we ate at in this post and which is famous for their breakfast and brunch. El Monumento, on the other hand, serves traditional Mexican fare and a menu that changes seasonally. We ate dinner in the twilight on the terrace with the San Gabriel River flowing right next to us, ordered a second dessert (even though we’d already had ice cream), and agreed it was a wonderful date night!
