Oh heyyy May! I can’t believe we’ve cruised through an entire third of 2019. April was a happy, fun-filled month of events and celebrations! We have the last of these occasions in just a couple days, celebrating our girl’s second birthday this weekend, and then…I’m looking forward to some weekends at home to catch up with normal life and blogging!
These pictures are from a date night Blake and I had just before all the madness started. We took ourselves downtown on a random Wednesday for a nice dinner and evening out. It was my first opportunity to wear this striped linen jumpsuit that I found at a local boutique and I couldn’t wait to take it for a spin!
If you’re looking for an easy and chic outfit, you can’t go wrong with a linen jumpsuit. Jumpsuits are very in right now so there are tons of options available, and linen is a timeless fabric that will never feel cheap or dated. Choosing clothes made of quality fabrics is an easy way to elevate your wardrobe with each purchase. I definitely got caught up in fast fashion as a twenty-something. Stores like Forever 21 and H&M were my mainstays, always allowing me to shop and have fresh outfits without breaking the bank. But those clothes also left me feeling underwhelmed with my overall closet. The excitement came from wearing something new, not in the actual clothing itself, and once the “newness” wore off, I quickly became disinterested in my wardrobe of cheaply made clothes. I now focus on purchasing high quality clothes, even if it means buying less, in order to build a wardrobe that’s timeless and lasting.
Speaking of timeless and lasting, my jacket, shoes, and bag are all from previous years, yet I still love to style my outfits with them. I know an item was a smart purchase and that I stayed true to myself when I keep going back to it over the years. My black vegan leather moto jacket was from American Eagle, bag is Micheal Kors, and sandals are Sam Edelman. I’ve linked similar items below that I’d shop now if I were replacing or adding any of these items to my wardrobe!
