I’ve found a new love for spring and it’s not your typical floral prints or cute sundresses. It comes in the shape of a sunny yellow pair of high top sneakers that will turn you into a sneaker girl even if you thought you weren’t one. Yes that’s right! I bought these Vans Sk8-Hi sneaks a month ago and I’ve been wearing them with positively everything.

I’m a professed lover of high heels but these Vanilla Custard beauties have me wanting to make every outfit statement-sneaker-chic (did I just invent a new style category there?) just to have an excuse to wear them. I’ve worn these high tops with both styles of jeans I’m loving lately (this vintage-cut pair and these wide leg jeans), a maxi dress, a t-shirt dress (as seen in this Instagram photo), and I’ll be wearing them with shorts as soon as the weather warms up. I even paired them with my Valentine’s Day outfit for a lunch time date with Blake!

Instead of going for pink or red pieces to make my Valentine’s Day outfit, I went for wearing hearts on hearts on hearts instead. I got this heart covered balloon-sleeve sweater, denim mini skirt, and heart drop earrings all from Madewell. It was a fun take on getting V-day cute without using the typical colors, and I’m so into the vintage 70s vibes of these rustic colors.

Speaking of 70s vibes, I also picked up another pair of my favorite Cabana oversized sunglasses recently, this time in “Sweet Daffodil” color. You’ve seen them on the blog in tortoise and pink frames and I couldn’t wait to add this shade to my collection. There’s nothing like having a fun selection of sunnies to throw on once spring and summer hit because we spend so much time outside in the bright sunlight!

So tell me, have I convinced you to get yourself a pair of statement sneakers?! Let me know in the comments below! I’ve worn these in roughly five of the next seven outfits coming to blog so I’ve got plenty of inspiration on how to style them coming your way!
