On Sunday we started Daylight Saving Time and I’m personally skipping for joy! I look forward to this switch every year because it signifies longer, warmer days ahead and my favorite season peeking around the corner. You can find fresh flowers and wide-open windows in my house at this very moment! There’s nothing like the blooming of the earth, the fresh spring breeze, and my most favorite celebrations coming up to fill me with gratitude for all the joys in my life.
We have so many annual occasions in March and April that it’s hard to believe we’re here! Blake and I both celebrate our birthdays in spring, and now our little tot will too! Planning her first birthday party has been heavy on my to-do list and I’m so excited to celebrate a year of her sweet life. We also have Lonestar Roundup the first week of April, which is a huge classic car show that’s four days of meetups, breakfast tacos and BBQ, country cruises, concerts, mini bike races, and good times with good friends.
The thing I’m probably most excited for, though, is to celebrate Merritt’s first Easter in a couple weeks! Easter memories are some of my most nostalgic and cherished from my childhood — the egg-coloring and ensuing hunt after lunch, the new dress I got each year and basket of the most delicious Cadbury chocolates, the beautiful flower arrangements and pastel colors everywhere. Not to mention it coincides with my favorite season and my own birthday. I love everything about Easter! My heart swells with joy at the thought of creating those same traditions and memories for my own daughter. You can bet I’ve got a special day planned, beginning with a breakfast of bunny pancakes!
What are your favorite Easter traditions that we should start with our Mer-Bear this year? Or if you’re not into Easter, what upcoming spring occasion are you most excited for? Leave a comment below and tell me!
