Any time we take a snowboarding vacation we spend the majority of each day–from morning to late afternoon–on the mountain. We only get three to six days of riding each season so we try to make the most of them! We head to the slopes early and stay until the lifts close at 4 pm. Then we change out of our snow gear, get a hot coffee to drink, and enjoy the scenery around us as the sun sets.
A few months ago I saw this “ski babes on the go-go” designer collaboration sweater at J. Crew and I couldn’t buy it fast enough! I love the 80’s vibe and neon colors. I knew it’d be perfect to cozy up in after getting off the mountain, and it will probably be my go-to sweater for just that for years to come. Worn with jeans, my pink sneakers, and faux fur coat, I felt warm and comfortable for strolling around the village.
I also had a couple accessories from friend and jewelry-maker Jenna of Tinker Company. She handcrafts some of the most unique and incredible jewelry pieces I’ve ever seen! One of them is this ski gondola necklace, which I’ve swooned over ever since I saw her first one. The gondola moves up and down the “cable” which is a testament to how intricate Jenna’s work is. I love the weight of it, the way it laid on my sweater, and the fact that it’s such a great conversation piece. It took my simple apres-ski outfit of a sweatshirt and jeans to the next level!
We had great sunset views as we wandered around the mountain and the village. Taking some time to enjoy our location is a nice way to start the evening before we head home to relax and eat dinner. We know once we’re home it’s easy to cozy up in lounge clothes and stay in for the night. The wind-down time between snowboarding and turning in for the evening is our favorite to spend meandering like locals.
I’ll be featuring another amazing piece of Tinker Company jewelry in my next post! It’s ski-themed like this one; leave a comment below to guess what it is!
