One of my favorite things to do on Saturday morning is head to the farmers market and stock up on fresh, organic goodies for the week. Blake and I are huge salad eaters and we like to pre-prep our veggies and have them rinsed, cut up and ready to eat. Doing this helps to cut down drastically on prep time when we’re cooking dinner each night — because let’s face it, cooking a good meal takes a lot of time and then leaves you with a sinkful of dishes — a lot of ‘motivation’ to just skip the home cooked meal and eat out. Which we are definitely guilty of, especially when we haven’t planned ahead for the week!
The farmers market is not only great for fresh and locally grown garden greens, but I’ve found so many other treasures there, one of my favorites being the handmade pure beeswax bars that I use when making my body butters.
This particular Saturday happened to be a ray of sunshine in a week (more like month) of gloomy, rainy weather, so I was more than thrilled to dress appropriately — which for me translated to easy breezy spring basics in light pastel hues. I consider these pieces essential for anything that involves a lot of walking and shopping and are closet staples that you most definitely shouldn’t be without this summer — a light, airy tank in the season’s favorite blush pink, a cute and flattering pair of cropped skinny’s in a fun color like this pair I’m wearing from J.Crew, and a super comfy pair of flats in a fun, bright print. Happy shopping!
