We go to a lot of car shows in the hill country since Blake has a few classic cars of his own. It keeps us adventuring and exploring around the small towns in the region. We were in Lampasas for the open house of Martin’s Rod and Custom on a Saturday afternoon. We ate grilled hot dogs, listened to a live band, and chatted with friends and acquaintances. As we left the party, golden hour began to fall over the small town.
For a car show outfit that fit in with the scene, I took a cue from the guys with an oversized flannel shirt. This flannel is actually from the men’s section. Blake and I were shopping and he found it on the sale rack. It was the only one left and too small for him so I got it for myself instead! I wore it here with the buttons askew and half tucked in to give it a lived-in comfy vibe.
True to my style, I layered on the feminine touches to balance the slouchiness of the shirt. Skinny jeans, pumps, and a red lace bralette that peeked from under the flannel made for a ladylike menswear look. I also made sure to stack on all the dainty gold jewelry that I talked about in my last post.
We made the most of the golden hour lighting and small town scenery before hopping back in the ’59 truck and driving home. Once we got home, we loaded up some bags we’d packed for the weekend and made an evening drive out to the lake house for our first time to spend the night since the renovations. Stay tuned for more pictures from the weekend!
