After ten seasons of snowboarding together, Blake and I have a few places that are our favorites to go for different reasons. Since adventure and traveling are a large part of what inspires this blog, I wanted to share a bit more about one of our activities that we carve out time and money for every year, no matter what. You might’ve already guessed that our top spot, which we return to annually, is Vail, Colorado.

We love coming to Vail for so many reasons! The mountain itself is expansive and has more trails, courses, and parks than anyone needs. We never feel like we’re riding the same trail repeatedly and there’s simply no comparison to the amount of space and variety. The facilities, lifts, lodges–everything–is top notch and consistently upgraded. We also happen to have family here and being able to visit with them, on and off the mountain, is an extra treat that we don’t get at other destinations. We really can’t ask for more when it comes to a snowboarding vacation!

We’re lucky that we save money on lodging when we come here, because the cost of lift tickets is higher than most places. We buy them at the start of the season to get them when they’re cheapest, though. With the perks and amenities we get here, like six-pack chairs that move the lift lines quickly, gondolas with heated seats, wide open spaces, and unbeatable views, we think the price is justified and it’s an experience worth paying for.
