What is an #ootd? It stands for Outfit of the Day and it’s the pictures I take of my outfits that aren’t blog shoots, and are originally only posted to my Instagram. But I thought doing a blog roundup of my latest shots would be great to have a peek at which items I wear most and how I style pieces in different ways!
Camis are some of my favorite tops to have. They look good when paired with anything and they can be layered or not, depending on the weather. I tucked this scalloped lavender cami from last year into a white denim skirt and made it cute and casual with some high top sneakers. We got Merritt a matching pair of sneakers and she was so excited to model them. It’s hard to say which one of us wears our pair more! I wore this outfit to a midweek work session at the Georgetown Public Library.
Something else I wear on repeat with no shame is these perfect Agolde cutoff shorts. I don’t know where my wardrobe would have been all summer without these. It’s the first time I’ve “splurged” on a pair of shorts (over $100) and without a doubt it was worth it. I’m glad I didn’t buy any other shorts all summer because these were all I wanted to slip into, a familiar friend that is so flattering that all your other shorts will be long forgotten in your drawer once you have these. I wore an oversized Churro Co. t-shirt (a local Austin food truck that is 100) and, of course, my fave sneakers for Sunday errands around the city. Also, two watches at Merritt’s suggestion haha #itsavibe.
I last wore this pink dress on the blog here, paired with (surprise) some Vans high tops. I dressed it up for a dinner outing on our anniversary weekend with espadrille wedges that lace around the ankles. I adore how feminine and understated this dress is! I’m already scheming about pairing some sweaters over the top for colder weather ahead. The skirt is so full and flowy (and has pockets!) that it will work beautifully as a “separate” too.
As testament to my previous statements, here’s another outfit made of a simple cami tucked into jeans and kick-ass sneakers. We’ve had a few opportunities to wear jeans outfits so I pulled out my favorite pair, “The Perfect Vintage Jean” from Madewell. I have these jeans in two sizes and it’s a style that the brand consistently keeps in stock. Blake and I took a work-from-home Tuesday in which we didn’t have our girl and headed downtown to work from the Central Public Library instead of home. Afterwards, we scootered around all evening having fun, and at dinner our waitress told me she’d just bought these same jeans because she loved them on a coworker who also owned them. These are from last year but they’re clearly still on the trend train. Get yourself a pair (or two), you won’t regret it!
