As we packed up the car for our trip to the coast, we loaded up our mini bikes to take with us. Blake bought and built these mini bikes earlier in the year for each of us. His is painted a sparkly gold flake and tops at 57 MPH, mine is ballerina pink and goes up to 44 MPH, and we take them quite often on adventures with us. Since we’re not the type to lay in the sand and suntan, these were a perfect activity one afternoon.
We’d just eaten lunch and rode straight from the house to the beach in search of fresh air and sunshine. The weather was warm and breezy and the views were outstanding! We always note how it’s impossible to cruise around on these without a smile on your face; they’re so much fun! Blake surprised me with Piglet for my birthday and it’s been possibly his best gift yet. He meticulously chose each part, from the gas tank to the gold chain, and even stripped it down to the metal and re-painted it pink. His bike is dubbed Foolz Gold but he always refers to it as his “hog”, which led me to start calling mine Piglet. One of the final touches he added was surprising me with the Piglet license plate. It’s such a special gift and we’ve had endless fun riding them around together!
I wore a monochrome mint outfit made of old and new pieces from my closet. The sweater is several years old from Nordstrom Rack but I love the color and it’s a great light layer for mild weather. The jeans are also old from J. Crew. They’re such great-fitting jeans that no matter how old these get, I’ll wear them as long as they fit! My blush colored sneakers are new this fall and my go-to shoe on the weekend. If they were still available, I’d buy them in black leather too because they’re so comfortable and versatile. Lastly, my Consuela banana bag was the perfect beach bag. It held a blanket in case we wanted to stop and sit down, the camera, water bottles, and our phones. The coated canvas-like fabric was great for keeping sand and moisture off. I now use it multiple times a week to carry my pumping gear to work and the banana print makes it more than just another tote bag. It’s a great last minute gift idea if you still have some ladies on your list!
I’ve linked similar pieces since these exact ones aren’t available. I especially love this mock-neck sweater in the same color for only $10, and these sneakers are the same brand, just the low-top version of what I have.
