If there’s one piece of clothing you should have in your closet, it’s a blue linen button-up. I got this one from Old Navy last year and it is hands down one of my most worn shirts; I paired it here with white jeans and a scarf for a cozy winter look, I’ve worn it tucked into a high-waisted pleated skirt for a breezy spring outfit, and I’ve even worn it alone as a swimsuit cover-up on the beach. It’s so easy and versatile that I bought the exact same shirt in a mint color too, although the blue is my favorite and such a classic color.
We found ourselves heading downtown on a Sunday afternoon and I couldn’t help but grab my favorite shirt. To dress it up a bit for the city, I paired it with another of my most worn items — these faux leather perforated shorts from Zara (also worn here, here, and here on the blog) and my favorite black stilettos. Each one of the items in this outfit is something I would consider a staple to have in your closet — they’re classic colors and styles that you’ll never regret buying! I added my coral studded envelope clutch to give a pop of color and a floral necklace for a touch of femininity, and pulled my hair in a side twist-braid for an easy and effortless look.
We enjoyed the warm afternoon walking around and being tourists in our own city. Now that we have more occasion to get into downtown for blog shoots and adventures, we’ve been exploring different neighborhoods and seeing our city with fresh eyes — I just love the shots of the buildings covered in what I called ‘cloud camo’ (in my ig post here). I’ve always said the top of the Frost Tower (above) reminds me of the glass elevator in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory; it was so sparkling and ethereal on this day!
Once the sun started to go down we grabbed some local Chinese for dinner and headed home for the evening, stopping along the way to snap a picture of the burning orange sunset over the hills.
