Our last day in Vail was much like the other two; we woke early in the morning, donned our snowboarding gear, and headed to the mountain to get our ride time in. It was an excellent day of boarding; I had a milestone accomplishment and hit my first obstacle in a terrain park (3 times!), and we saw a celebrity!
Around lunch time we stopped at one of the lodges on the top of the mountain to eat. We went into the bathroom and when I came out, Blake was sitting on a bench and looking intently at me and then somewhere over my shoulder. I walked over and he whispered “look who it is!” and turned around and saw Kyle Richards from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills! She was getting her daughter Portia zipped up and I realized I’d heard her talking and saying the name Portia in the bathroom but had never looked over to realize it was her! I sat down next to Blake to get my own jacket zipped and tried not to make it obvious I was staring **major side eyes**. I’ll admit that I briefly considered asking for a picture before deciding I didn’t want to be ‘that person’…plus the lighting was too dark and wouldn’t have been a good enough quality for even posting ;)
We finished the day on the mountain and then once again changed clothes in the lodge to walk around before dinner. Although it had snowed earlier that day, the weather had cleared and the sidewalks and pavement were dry (thanks to being heated like I mentioned here) so I brought out my blue suede pumps to dress up a blush pink Forever 21 sweater, white skinny jeans, and my MK puffer coat which is my favorite winter coat in my closet (worn here and here) — it’s super warm and the cut is flattering and doesn’t make you look like a michelin man! I knew I had made the right decision with my shoes when we walked past another couple and the woman loudly whispered “is she serious?!” while clearly looking down at my feet; I had to chuckle at it while wondering what she thought was so impractical with wearing stilettos on clean dry pavement…and smiled at her while walking with decidedly more confidence in my non-frumpy outfit ;)
