Blake’s and my first date was wakeboarding on Lake Austin, so it’s safe to say that spending time on the lake is at the heart of our relationship. We’re so blessed to have a family lake house in the hill country that we can get away to on the weekends. It allows us to keep our passion as an integral part of our lives and, even better, to raise our Mer-bear with the same love for the water.
We took her out on the boat for her first time a few weekends back and spent the day anchored at different waterfalls, lounging in the shade, swimming, and staying refreshed with snacks and Topo Chico. It was so neat to dip her tiny toes in the water and watch her face light up with joy at the feeling of the cool lake on a hot day. After a few hours of relaxing at our first spot, Blake was itching to get out on the wakeskate, so we went for a cruise while he took a couple sets. We then anchored again at a different waterfall until we’d had our fill for the day, before heading back to the house for a delicious BBQ dinner.
I got this swimsuit after my pregnancy and it’s my first one piece since I was a child. I love the high neckline with cutouts, and the ruching across the front makes it so flattering. I’ve worn it so many times since I got it; having a one piece really made it easy to get back in a swimsuit after having a baby. My all-time favorite boat accessories are a cute hat to keep the sun off my face and a good pair of sunnies. This boater hat was a steal from F21 a couple years ago; it’s still in great shape and looks cute with any outfit I pair it with. I got my Clubmasters earlier this year and wear them daily. We always make sure to get polarized lenses with any sunglasses we buy. It’s an extra investment, but we spend so much time outside and the sun is especially bright on the water. We’re considering getting these or these for our tot to protect her eyes when we’re out there.
