On Saturday Blake and I woke up early and took a day trip out to our family’s lake property. It’s about an hour and a half drive from Austin into the beautiful Texas Hill Country and is a place we love to escape to for a relaxing, peaceful time by the water.
It was still early morning when we arrived, so we dropped off our bags and changed clothes to head back out into the beautiful sunshine. We knew of a few wineries in the area, and although neither of us drinks wine, we made the short drive to Fall Creek Vineyards to walk around and take in the beauty of the landscape. I put on this floral romper that my sister passed on to me because the sizing wasn’t quite right for her; lucky for me it fit me just right! For all you younger siblings out there, let’s get a cheer for a hand-me-down that you actually want! #siblinglife. I accessorized with this lace bralette that I wore here, some gold jewelry, and brought in a little pattern mixing with my striped bag.
We walked around the grounds before heading inside to the tasting room, hoping there would be some coffee beverages available that we could sip on the patio. Right as we walked in a tour was getting started, so we hopped in and heard the history of the winery while seeing the rest of the property. We were surprised to learn that the founders of Fall Creek Vineyards are considered the pioneers of bringing wine to Texas, and that it’s the third largest producing winery in the state! Once finished with the tour, we drank some bottled water (they didn’t have coffee) while enjoying the rest of the morning around the property, then headed back to the lake for some afternoon kayaking.
Check out a bunch of floral rompers I love linked below. They’re so easy to wear and comfortable, it will be your new summer staple!
