I don’t know about your fall weather, but in our great state the seasons don’t transition very smoothly. Our autumn days are still pretty hot and humid until they’re suddenly very chilly. Very little in between here! There’s an old joke about Texas weather that goes like this: if you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes. Lol — but it’s not lying and so, we learn to adjust (our mindset and our wardrobe) and take what we can get until that winter chill hits. For me that means pretty much wearing my same summer outfits but making sure I have something warm to layer on when the sun goes down.
Enter this classic combo. A cami and a cardigan are the dream team. How many times have I mentioned it before? If I did a capsule wardrobe these two items would absolutely be my on my staples list and I’d have multiples of each for mixing. It could easily become my signature look. I love it because I don’t like to look frumpy, and you run that risk once you start layering and bundling up. But with camis, the fabric is thin and hugs your skin and won’t make you overheat if you fancy adding something thicker than a cardigan on top. I’ve even worn camis under furry coats in the winter and just kept the coat on but open when I was inside. I just love all the possibilities! I’ve linked similar items I could find because these are both no longer available.
I wore my number one cutoff shorts because [see comments on Texas weather above lol]. Should I mention these babies are 50% off right now thanks to summer being over? You will not regret being able to start the next warm season with these darlings stashed away! Also, this exact outfit could be worn with jeans swapped in if your locale is more easy-going on the seasons and you actually get cool days in the fall. Roll up the cuffs to show off these kickin’ high tops, which I will unabashedly sell as the best sneaker style ever created, and you’ve got yourself a versatile and totally cute outfit made of pieces that you’ll re-wear time and again. Trust me, you will feel at home in this outfit.
What’s your fall season like? I’d love to hear — leave a comment below and tell me!
