A cool off of temperatures promptly has me finding ways to wear my summer garb as long as possible. It’s hard to retreat into the covered-up coziness of cold weather outfits when one of my favorite things is feeling the sun and fresh air on my skin. I could be content never needing to wear a sweater or jeans again, but alas, reality bites and Texas chills off so here’s my answer: a summer dress paired with fall accessories.
This red linen dress is practically summer sewn into cloth. The color is called ‘hot day’ and I couldn’t think of anything more appropriate. I just love how vibrant and eye-catching it is. It’s available in a few sizes in this red color as well as this equally bold burnt yellow Ochre, which is a perfect shade for fall. I’ve talked about how much I love this dress style before because I own the same one in a beautiful floral print, which I wore here during summer with Vans sneakers.
Fall called for a different vibe when styling this one, so I went heavy and dark with the accessories. These black boots were just right — they’re kind of combat style, kind of motorcycle-babe style, and kind of perfect for every fall outfit. Get ready to see these babies a lot because I’ve been wearing them with everything. They’re also dirt cheap right now (on sale!) and still available in a few sizes — grab some before they’re gone and you’ll be wearing them every chance you get!
I also brought out this brown faux fur jacket for the first time, which was something I picked up in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale back in July. A heavy coat like this pairs well with something thin or minimal underneath, since the faux fur adds some thickness to your look. I love a good faux fur jacket because it looks good dressed up but also adds something special to a simple jeans and sneakers outfit. I found this one available at Nordstrom Rack in all sizes for under $100 which is a crazy steal (originally $249)! You won’t be sorry to have this in your closet when the winter chill hits, especially at that price!
