Blake and I recently found ourselves with an errand in San Antonio, so we decided to make a day date of it and explore the city. It’s a place we’ve never visited before, in spite of living close by. It’s best known for the River Walk, but we decided to stay at street level and check out all the buildings downtown instead.
My favorite part of the architecture was the bridges, which were everywhere since the streets are all hovering over the San Antonio River below. We wandered around for most of the afternoon working up an appetite for dinner. We’ve started to get warmer weather and, as I picked out a shorts outfit to wear, I couldn’t help but think of my childhood self. I can remember getting so excited as a kid for the first day of the year when it was finally warm enough to wear shorts! I’d pick a special outfit the night before and wake up eagerly to get dressed the next day. I still get that same excitement as an adult when I have a new outfit or item to wear!
I’ve worn this blush pink sweater often during the winter and it was perfect to pair with shorts for a warmer day. The ruffle on the front in the shape of a ‘v’ makes it less boxy-fitting than a typical sweatshirt. I’ve had these denim shorts from Old Navy for a couple years, and these blush pink espadrilles; they’re both staples in my spring wardrobe!
My denim jacket is another thing I wear constantly as the weather transitions. It’s a perfect extra layer for those cool spring breezes and looks good over almost anything. I got this one from Gap years ago and, like every good piece of denim, it gets softer and better with age. I’ve love my denim jacket so much I’m considering getting another one that’s embroidered or embellished, like this one or this one. What’s your opinion on a denim jacket — do you like it plain or decorated? Tell me below!
