If summer were epitomized into a frock, I think it would be a white linen dress. The pure lightness of the white combined with the breathability of linen makes it practical for wearing in the harsh rays of the sun. This button-front dress with pockets is so timeless and classic. It feels effortless to wear and can be decorated in so many ways with different accessories. I’ve worn it tons of times since I bought it!
I styled it two ways on this occasion. We spent the first part of the day popping around town doing errands, so I wore my favorite comfortable espadrille slides. These are hands down my favorite summer sandals! They’re easy to slip on and off, and they’re just so adorable and eye-catching. I love the pop of color when worn with something neutral like this white dress, or the added interest when combined with other colors, like I wore in this post. I toted a simple white canvas bag that held my essentials, water bottle, camera, and a scarf for my shoulders in case I needed it.
Later in the day I made a few simple switches to dress up the outfit for a family occasion. I traded my slides for these bright yellow espadrille wedges. What to mention first about why I love these wedges so much? I’ve always loved ankle straps because of how secure and easy it makes walking in a higher heel. The strap on these is situated low which elongates your leg and makes them so flattering! The sunny yellow color just embodies the warmth and sunlight of the season. I ditched the casual canvas tote and wrapped a soft tan pashmina, which was a bridesmaid gift from my best friend, around my arms.
I’ve worn this dress most often like the first look, with a casual vibe appropriate for daytime errands. I love elevating my everyday look and I’ve been wearing dresses constantly lately, even on days when I stay home all day. How you look is directly related to how you feel, so why not feel a little elevated, even on the casual days? Which of these looks is your favorite? Tell me in the comments below!
