On a sunny Sunday morning I headed to the heart of Austin to celebrate a local dainty jewelry designer I love. The occasion was the one year anniversary of Amanda Deer in their east Fifth studio space. It was a lovely party with snacks and sips, shopping discounts, and delicate jewelry for every taste. I was excited to add a couple things to my own collection!

I last talked about Amanda Deer in this post after I got my first pieces from her store. I still wear my tiny gold fortune cookie necklace and midi rings almost daily! This time around I added a couple more rings and a mother-of-pearl bar necklace for everyday wear. It’s the perfect jewelry to layer on without becoming overwhelming. I especially love how all the gold catches and reflects the light when we’re outside. It’s a subtle way to add some eye-catching sparkle to any outfit!

As for my outfit, I wore a Madewell x Karen Walker top and Madewell vintage fit jeans. This details on this top like the ruffles, flared hem, and pointed yoke across the shoulders give it a western vibe that I’m obsessed with. Brand collaboration pieces often have that extra attention to detail that regular brand clothes sometimes lack. My lavender Vans that I’ve worn frequently on the blog are an exclusive Madewell x Vans collaboration piece. Any time a brand collaborates with another brand or designer you can be sure to find some unique, limited items to add to your closet. And these vintage fit jeans are my favorite pair of jeans I’ve owned. The cut of them is so flattering and on trend. They look good with any type of shoes — I’ve styled them with pointed flats, Keds sneakers, and stilettos. These jeans are denim gold! I recently bought a second pair in a size smaller for when I want less of a boyfriend jeans look.

I’m a believer that any top and jeans combo can look equally simple or exceptional depending on how you style it. It’s up to how you accessorize to make the outfit unique and an expression of yourself. I wore my favorite power booties which are a pale pink ankle boot adorned with a crushed velvet bow. I call these my power booties because they’re such a statement piece! I’ve had them for several years and they’re still so chic and get frequent compliments. The pointy silhouette and pink-ness make them unapologetically feminine and edgy. My last accessory was a burgundy crossbody bag that complemented the edginess with it’s gold hardware and chain strap. This was one of those outfits that made me feel confident and true to myself. It’s the feeling I’m seeking when I put an outfit together, the kind that makes you feel like a bad bosswoman. What does that outfit look like for you? Is it a certain style, like “feminine but edgy”, or a certain accessory that you love? Leave a comment below and tell me!

Madewell currently has up to 30% off your purchase right now! The holidays are one of the few times they have sales so now is the right time to shop!
