On Sunday Blake and I went to 6th Street for a late brunch at Due Forni, an Italian pizza and wine restaurant with two different brick ovens that cook their pizzas in two unique styles. It was our first time here and since we arrived a little after the crowd, we had the place almost to ourselves — we got to enjoy old Western films playing on the brick walls while the smell of baking pizza wafted throughout. (It was also dimly lit inside which was relaxing, but we’re still figuring out the best camera settings for that so excuse the grainy pictures!)
We started off by ordering cappuccinos and polpette (beef, veal, and pork meatballs) with some of their freshly baked bread. We both ordered off the brunch menu — steak & eggs for Blake and the Forni Burger (topped with bacon and a fried egg) for me and everything that we ate was truly scrumptious. There was also an option on the menu to buy the chefs a beer for $1 which was fun and allowed us to thank them for a delicious meal.
I always like to dress up a little more when we’re going downtown, so I wore this new eyelet skirt from Old Navy and this soft pink striped tee from Gap. I love shopping online at both of these stores because they almost always have a sale going on — they’re both having 40% off your purchase right now (code: TREAT) including these exact pieces I’m wearing! I completed the outfit with nude heels and my Kate Spade Lacey wallet. After eating we strolled around on 6th street for a while and enjoyed the sunny morning, and then stopped in to The Driskill Hotel’s 1886 Cafe and Bakery for a cup of tea before heading home.
