Blake and I try to get downtown whenever we have the opportunity, so we often head that way for date night. We had a day without our girl on one of Blake’s work-from-home weekdays, so we decided to make it an all day date. We started by taking the MetroRail into the heart of Austin after lunch, where we finished our afternoon working from the Central Austin Public Library. When the work day ended we continued our date into the evening with dinner. Did I mention we scootered around the entire time?!

We took electric scooters from where we got off the train and rode them around all day. If you live in a big city you probably have these around and I’m here to tell you: it’s ridiculously fun and you should try it! I was smiling and giggling most of the time, and aside from that, we got around the city so much more than we would have if we were parking and walking everywhere. At the end of the night when we got back to the train station, we’d gone a total of nine miles all day. I picked an outfit that would be versatile for the entire day since we’d be working, playing, and going to dinner. Enter an all time favorite staple of mine…the silk cami (any cami, really). I’m no stranger to talking about why these are so good on the blog. The cami top won again for our date day, this time tucked into these high-waisted vintage cut jeans.

I mostly wore sneakers all day, which you can see in these #ootd pictures. I kept these red strappy heels in Blake’s backpack for changing into for dinner (they’re on sale for $54 right now!) and I matched my lip color to them. Piling on lots of dainty jewelry is one of my favorite ways to finish an outfit. Though it doesn’t look overwhelming, I have on two pairs of earrings, two necklaces, eight rings, and a watch. This is such an easy date night outfit to copy, and the finishing details are a great opportunity to make your style statement!

How would you copy this outfit and make it unique to you? Tell me in the comments!
