On a Sunday in early December when the leaves had just started to change, we all packed up in the ’59 for a scenic drive in the mild fall weather. We cruised for a bit with the windows down and music playing, then drove to a local park and snacked on apples and coffee that we’d brought with us. It was a fun, spontaneous activity that got us out of the house for the afternoon and fresh air in our lungs!
The mild temperature called for my cape jacket that I wear often in the fall. It’s a great style for this time of year! The heavy wool around my shoulders keeps the chill off but it’s not too warm and I love that my arms are free. I bought it at J. Crew two years ago and, like all my jackets and coats, I continue to wear it through the years. For that reason, outerwear is one wardrobe item I consider as an investment piece and usually spend a bit more on.
I wore the cape over a striped sweater that’s also a couple years old from J. Crew, with Old Navy jeans and my blue Hunter boots. Old Navy has been my main place to buy jeans for a couple years, but I just ordered this pair, this pair, and this pair from J. Crew. I’ve been wanting to get some high-waisted jeans for while, and these are all on sale!
