The final day of Austin Fashion Week 2016 brought with it my favorite outfit and my favorite designer on the runway. Each look of mine for the three nights of the event was inspired by one piece that I knew I wanted to build an outfit around — the colorful shorts on Thursday, the blue suede sandals on Friday, and for the final evening I knew I wanted to wear the gold studded wingtip oxfords that Blake had given me as a birthday gift only days before.
As such, my initial outfit idea was out the window which left me heading out early Saturday morning in search of the perfect dress that would pair with my new shoes. I went straight to Anthropologie, which is a great dress destination and I had no doubt I’d find something there. I’d taken the oxfords with me and tried them on with nearly every dress in the store before picking this gorgeous blush dropwaist dress — which is no surprise because I fell in love with it after seeing it online months ago and no other dress came close to feeling as perfect as this one.
The blush color is so soft and the fabric is a heavy linen cotton blend with a sheen to it that makes the light bounce off beautifully; the ruffled hem makes it perfect for twirling! As I made my way to the register I couldn’t help but pick out this cuff and necklace to accessorize the outfit, and I added my rose gold gem drop earrings and pink glitter Kate Spade wallet to complete the blush pink look. Like I mentioned above, this was my favorite outfit that I put together for the runway shows. It was so easy and comfortable to wear and yet I still felt like a princess in it!
I also mentioned that Saturday’s shows had our favorite designer presentation, and though we may be a bit biased because we know him personally, Ross Bennett’s custom menswear clothes were a hit with the entire crowd as one of the last shows of the event. We got a few pics below (swooning over the women’s suiting!) and the last is of Ross with his son, with Matt Swinney, the founder of Austin Fashion Week, high-fiving :) I hope you enjoyed reading all about AFW 2016! I certainly enjoyed attending and can’t thank Mandy and Kristin at POM PR enough for inviting me!
