One of the most iconic things about Texas in the springtime are the numerous fields of wild bluebonnets that bloom each year. They’re native to the landscape and are recognized as the state flower; it’s not uncommon to see families stopped on the side of the road taking their annual pictures amongst the pretty flowers during blooming season.
On this Sunday we’d been out and about on errands and decided to check out a nearby park. I was thrilled to be greeted by a field of bluebonnets glowing beautifully in the setting sun. We walked down to the water where there was a dog park on the other side and then back up to the bluebonnets and wide open grassy field — it was the perfect place to spend a warm afternoon outside!
It was also the perfect setting for photos in my blue romper from Forever 21. A sunny spring Sunday and a flirty little romper are the perfect combination and I love the details of this one — the open back and little poms on the shorts make it interesting enough that it doesn’t seem too plain. I added this boater hat also from F21, my J.Crew flower necklace, and snakeskin Tieks that are some of my favorite shoes and I wear at least weekly. We soaked up the last of the sunshine before heading back home for the evening, and made plans to come back here soon with our pup and picnic in tow.
This romper is sold out but I linked another from Forever 21 along with some other blue rompers that I love! It’s such a popular color right now that you can’t go wrong with having one in your closet!
