Last month we journeyed back to our favorite snowboarding destination, Vail, CO. The trip always starts with a short flight to Denver, where upon landing, we drove into downtown for lunch. Fresh food is always the first thing on our minds after flying! Once we had refueled, we explored the area and took pictures before driving the last leg to Vail.

Since it was a travel day I dressed casually and comfortably. I wore a simple white t-shirt that has the cutest rainbow trim along the collar, and my looser vintage fit jeans because I don’t like to wear constricting clothes on a plane. My Vans high tops were one of the two pairs of shoes I took on the trip since we’d mostly be in snow. I was going full 80s vibes and added some geometric acetate earrings, yellow sunglasses, and a bright red lip. You can probably imagine my thrill when two ladies in the airport bathroom told me I looked straight out of the 80s! I thanked them heartily and told them how much it was a true compliment!

This faux fur coat is the secret sauce that made it possible to wear a thin t-shirt outside in Denver in the winter. If you don’t have a coat that will keep you warm no matter what’s underneath, you need a furry beauty like this one. Equally great is the fact that I can ball it up in my tote while we’re flying, and then pull it out once we land and it looks as chic as ever. It also doubles as a snuggle buddy for small tots which is Merritt’s favorite thing to do when I leave it around the house. Seriously, get yourself one of these! This one’s three years old and I’m still singing it’s praises.
