As the last day of December dawns and the new year peeks at us from around the corner, it’s natural to reflect back on the year coming to a close, and think of what’s to come in the year ahead. As I sit here writing this on the eve of New Year’s Eve, nails freshly painted and the Instrumental Christmas Radio playing on Pandora (because the holiday season doesn’t end until 12/31 ;) ), it’s easy to think of the moments that defined this year for me: starting this blog being a top one to include.

My idea for Gold Lion Style grew from the beginning of 2015, when I was (again) making plans for the new year and wanted to start a fulfilling project that I would be passionate about. I could make a list of things I’ve learned that include creating a website and using photo-editing programs, but I’m most thankful for the inspiration having this blog has brought to my own life! Blake and I find ourselves making more time to take the scenic route and watch a sunset, or go on a date night to a local event, and I love that I have a place where all of these memories are documented, as well as somebody to share them with. Thank you to each one of you who has read along and shared a piece of what’s special to me; I truly appreciate you and enjoy putting this blog together, and hope that it brings you a little bit of inspiration as well!

Another moment that truly marked the year as special was becoming a first-time aunt and uncle — twice! We had two baby nieces born two weeks apart last summer, and we’ve absolutely loved having babies in the family and adjusting to our new role. They’ve brought so much joy already and I can’t wait to watch them grow and each develop their own little personalities! With a new blog and new babies, a few planned trips, a challenging new years goals list, and a fortune out of my Chinese dinner tonight that says “You should do well at making money and holding on to it” ;), I know 2016 is going to be an amazing year and I’m so excited for what awaits!

    2015 was memorable for quite a lot of reasons – there have been a LOT of positive changes in the last few months it’s been a whirlwind, but a good one..for 2016, I have a lot in mind, but haven’t had the time to sit down and write it out, but I think it’ll be about personal growth, health, and my blog! My general ‘theme’ for 2016: HAPPY AND HEALTHY!
